The successful candidate will be expected to design, implement, and document various networking services. The scope of the position’s engineering responsibilities include the ongoing design of IP network, Internet access network, IP routing architecture, and managed service offerings.

The Senior Network Engineer position will also consist of the development and communication of engineering standards and procedures as it relates to the networking infrastructure to ensure that all standards and procedures are in accordance with Service Level Agreements.

The Senior Network Engineer will participate in departmental reviews to ensure both the technical and operational feasibility of all network products and services and make recommendations based on his/her ability.

Responsibilities:
-Support existing WAN and enterprise network infrastructure, including design, implementation, migrations, documentation, and decommissioning
-Perform network architecture reviews and develop detailed engineering designs and deployment plans
-Optimize WAN services to achieve enhancements in performance and availability while simultaneously achieving cost reduction
-Analyze and recommend contemporary and emerging technology for deployment across Company, including but not limited to: SIP, CDN, Unified communications, network consolidation, access integration, etc
-Conduct training for technical support personnel
-Participate in engineering team meetings and project planning sessions
-Provide updates, presentations, and recommendations on the state of assigned duties

Qualifications:
-Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems preferred, but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent.
-Minimum of either CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or JNCIP (Juniper Networks Certified Internetworking Professional) certification
-Advanced knowledge of layer-2 network design and protocols including frame-relay, ATM, Ethernet, SONET, DWDM, and Frame Relay
-Advanced knowledge of routed and routing protocols including OSPF, ISIS, BGP, Multicast, RSVP/LDP, MPLS in a Service Provider environment
-Advanced knowledge of Service Provider network offerings including RFC2547bis L3VPNs, Kompella L2VPNs, VPLS
-6 to 8 years experience in network design, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting in an enterprise network environment

Other preferred qualifications:
-Master’s degree in a technical field
-CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert) or JNCIE (Juniper Networks Certified Internetworking Expert) certification
-Advanced knowledge of security protocols and implementations including IPSec, NAT, ACLs
-Advanced knowledge of content delivery/application availability using load balancers
-Basic knowledge of scripting and programming languages such as perl or python
-Basic knowledge of operating systems including Windows, Unix, and Linux
-3 years experience leading/mentoring technical personnel
-Previous experience in a service provider environment
-Experience in business process re-engineering
